Professions / Gathering
There are 4 different professions you will be able to level up and master; Lumberjack, Fisher, Miner, and Blacksmith.
The Lumberjack
This will be a recurring pattern, but the names are quite intuitive. The Lumberjack gathers wood.
Trees and Nettles can be found all across Madrigal, and can be gathered by just clicking them, as long as you have a Lumberjack Axe in your inventory, or equipped.
Chopping Trees will reward the player with Lumberjack EXP and Wood Logs, whereas Nettles will yield string and herbs, all of which can be used to craft items:
- Related to the Lumberjack Profession, such as Furniture, Nets and better Lumberjack Axes.
- Related to the Blacksmith Profession, such as Equipment Pieces.
The Miner
The Miner gathers Ore Deposits.
Ore Deposits can be found all across Madrigal, and can be gathered by just clicking them, as long as you have a Miner Pickaxe in your inventory, or equipped.
Mining Ore Deposits will reward the player with Miner EXP and Ores, which can then be used to craft items:
- Related to the Miner Profession, such as Cards and better Miner Pickaxes.
- Related to the Blacksmith Profession, such as Equipment Pieces.
The Fisher
Well I did warn you that it's a recurring pattern. The Fisher fishes fish. But how much fish can a fisherman fish, and can a fisherman fish fish?
In their Profession Window (R), players will find two actions: "Start Fishing" and "Pull Fishing Line". You can drag these actions to your hotkeys! By standing in front of a body of water with a Fishing Rod equipped, it is possible to use the Start Fishing action. After a certain time, a red exclamation mark will appear on top of the player's head. This means you can reel in a fish! Use the "Pull Fishing Line" action before they get away.
Fishing Fish will reward the player with Fisher EXP and Fish, which can then be used to craft Consumables related to the Fisher Profession.
The Blacksmith
Last but not least, the Blacksmith can Dismantle Equipment, as well as craft Equipment and Upgrading/Crafting materials.
From their Profession Window (R), players will find a Crafting button. Clicking it will bring up the Crafting Window, showing various recipes related to all Professions.
Dismantling items will reward the player with Blacksmith EXP and Upgrading/Crafting Materials. The Blacksmith also gains bonus EXP from Crafting Recipes compared to the other Professions.
